Shift planning

Shift is a period for planning the work of employees and transport (e.g., day or night shift). You can set the shift schedule, the start and end times, and a list of mobile employees and transport that can be present in the work geozone during the shift.

If operators added to the shift do not appear in the work geozone during the shift, you will receive a notification in the interface. You can view the notification history in the Alerts section.

Working with shifts

Planning a shift

You can plan shifts for the current day or any other day and configure a shift schedule. Shifts automatically start and end at the times you specify.

  1. Go to the Planning → Shifts tab.

  2. Click Plan shift.

  3. Specify shift parameters (the set of fields or their names may vary in your project):

    • Shift name (mandatory parameter): shift name.
    • Start date (mandatory parameter): start date of the shift. You can plan a shift for the current day only until the end time specified in the template.
    • Repeat on schedule: if the shift must repeat on a schedule, select the checkbox. Select the days of the week for the shift and the end date of the shift repeats.
    • Shift start (mandatory parameter): time when shifts start.
    • Shift end (mandatory parameter): time when shifts end. The minimum shift duration is one hour.
    • Operators: mobile employees to work during the shift. You can filter employees by the groups they belong to.
    • Special equipment: transport to use during the shift.
  4. Click Create.

Viewing shift information

  1. Go to the Planning → Shifts tab.
  2. Open the card of the required shift. You can use filtering and sorting by date.

In the shift card, the following information is displayed (the set of fields or their names may vary in your project):

  • Main information:
    • Start date: start date of the shift.
    • Shift start: start time of the shift.
    • Shift end: end time of the shift.
    • Shift repeat: days of the week when the shift repeats.
    • End date: end date of the shift repeats.
  • Operators: list of employees added to the shift.
  • Special equipment: list of transport added to the shift.

Editing a shift

You can edit shifts: change the schedule, start and end time, a list of employees and transport.

If the shift has a schedule, new settings are applied only to future shifts. The current active shift remains unchanged.

  1. Go to the Planning → Shifts tab.
  2. In the list of shifts, click Shift menu icon next to the required shift and select Edit.
  3. Apply changes to the shift.
  4. Click Save changes.

Copying a shift

When copying a shift, all employees and transport from the original shift are copied to the new one automatically, and the start date of the shift is set to the next day. If necessary, you can edit the shift.

  1. Go to the Planning → Shifts tab.
  2. In the list of shifts, click Shift menu icon next to the required shift and select Copy.
  3. Apply changes to the shift if necessary.
  4. Click Save changes.

Deleting a shift

Important

A deleted shift cannot be restored.

  1. Go to the Planning → Shifts tab.
  2. In the list of shifts, click Shift menu icon next to the required shift and select Delete.
  3. If the shift has a schedule, select shifts to delete: the current one or all shifts.
  4. Click Apply.
